Alexander Kloes is Professor at THM University of Applied Sciences in Giessen, Germany. He heads the Device Modeling Research Group at the Competence Center for Nanotechnology and Photonics and served as Dean of the Department for Electrical Engineering and Information Technology 2023 – 2026. In 1996, he received the PhD degree in electrical engineering from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. He is IEEE Senior Member, holds 15 patents and co-authored more than 200 research papers. His research interests focus on compact modeling, simulation of semiconductor devices, and approaches for the design of neuromorphic computing architectures. In particular, he contributed to compact modeling of nanoscale MOS devices, tunneling transistors, organic thin-film transistors for flexible electronics, and memristive devices.
